PRP

What is PRP?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy is a procedure that uses components of your own blood to rejuvenate your skin. Blood drawn into a tube is processed through centrifugation, separating the platelet-rich cells, which are then injected into the areas where you need treatment.
Blood is primarily made up of a liquid called plasma and contains red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Platelets play an essential role in blood clotting, but they also contain hundreds of proteins called “growth factors” that are critical for the repair and regeneration of damaged tissues. With PRP, we can obtain more platelets than are normally found in your blood. This way, we can deliver far more platelets to the tissue we want to heal or rejuvenate than could be carried through the bloodstream. PRP can be 5 to 10 times richer in platelets and growth factors than normal plasma.

What Issues Does PRP Solve?

PRP can help with signs of aging, such as wrinkles and fine lines caused by facial expressions, and can lead to overall improvements in the quality of treated skin. It is known that PRP helps repair damaged scar tissue, which means it can be effective in reducing the appearance of acne scars and works very well with laser treatments to achieve smoother skin texture.

PRP can be injected into various problem areas on the face:

  • Cheeks
  • Forehead
  • Lip lines
  • Smile lines
  • Under the eyes
  • Acne scars

Why is PRP So Effective?

After several sessions of PRP treatment, you will notice improvements in fine lines and overall skin quality. As your body responds to your PRP treatment, it will rebuild itself at a cellular level; fresh, new skin cells will form, blood flow to your tissues will improve, and the collagen and elastin stores in your face will become stronger and much firmer. This is not just a temporary moisturizing effect – your skin will truly be healthier and stronger than ever.

What is the PRP Protocol?

PRP is performed with patient safety in mind and must be administered by a doctor. In the initial stage of the treatment, a topical numbing cream is applied to your face, and your face is left to numb for about 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile, a sufficient amount of blood is drawn. The blood is centrifuged to isolate the platelets, and then the platelet-rich portion of the plasma is injected into the face using a very fine needle.

What Can I Expect After PRP Treatment?

You may experience slight redness, mild swelling, and sometimes localized bruising immediately after the treatment. The recovery period for these conditions can range from a few hours to a few days. Compared to a surgical procedure, there is almost no need for rest. Sometimes, we may recommend specific skincare products as part of the post-treatment routine.

How Often Should I Get PRP Treatment?

The frequency of treatment can vary depending on your skin condition, lifestyle, and expectations. Typically, 4-6 sessions are planned at intervals of 3 to 4 weeks. To enhance the effectiveness of the results, you can maintain your appearance with additional treatments every 6 months.

When Will You See the Results?

The goal of PRP skin rejuvenation therapy is to improve skin tone and texture, tighten the skin, and smooth out lines and pores. Results begin to appear one to two weeks after the treatment session, and improvements continue over time.
You can expect to see the benefits of facial rejuvenation with PRP approximately one to two weeks after the treatment. Results emerge gradually. As the regeneration process can continue for up to a month after the procedure, your skin will keep improving. For optimal results, we recommend three to four sessions at intervals of three to four weeks.

The results of the treatment vary depending on your body’s metabolism. Additional sessions will also help maintain the results.
