Facial Implants

As we age, all the structures in our face, from the skin to the bone, undergo thinning and volume loss. Facial implants can add volume and shape to the areas we treat, making your facial appearance more balanced. Chin and cheek implants are commonly used to achieve beautiful facial contours with permanent results.

What Are Facial Implants?

Facial implants are medical products made from biocompatible material. They come in various sizes and shapes and provide permanent results. During our consultation, we will choose the implants that will enhance your facial appearance by creating natural-looking contours.
The primary purpose of facial implants is to provide volume support in areas with volume loss. However, they may not solve issues related to wrinkles, fine lines, or sagging skin on their own. If these concerns are relevant to you or if you want to improve other areas of your face, additional facial cosmetic surgery may be recommended.

Chin Implants

Chin implants can make a significant difference in facial balance. If you feel that your chin is too small for your face or if you lack sufficient chin projection, a chin implant can create a more proportional and distinctive lower face.

Chin Implant Procedure

Before the surgery, you will be given intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. Depending on your facial structure and desired result, an incision will be made either inside your mouth or under your chin. The implant is placed across your chin bone and under your tissue. This results in a chin that looks and feels natural. You will be able to go home a few hours after the procedure.

Cheek Implants

Full cheeks are a sign of youth. If you have flat or sagging cheeks due to genetics, age, or injury, cheek augmentation with implants can lift and fill this area.
Cheek implants come in many sizes and shapes. I will guide you in selecting cheek implants that complement your facial structure without appearing exaggerated or fake.

Cheek Implant Procedure

The procedure begins with general anesthesia or intravenous sedation. A small, hidden incision will be made inside your mouth or beneath your eyelids to place the implants. You can return home the same day.

Am I a Candidate for Facial Implants?

There are some basic health and lifestyle requirements you must meet to be a candidate for chin or cheek implant surgery. You may be a good candidate for facial implants if:

  • You are in good general health
  • You do not smoke
  • You want to improve the appearance of your chin or cheeks
  • You have realistic expectations

Facial Implant Recovery

You will be given care instructions for your incisions after surgery. There will be some swelling and tenderness in the treated area. Discomfort can be managed with medication and cold compresses.
During recovery, special care should be taken to protect your face from impact or abrasion. You can usually return to work within a week after your surgery, except for physically demanding activities.
