Brow Lift
Sagging or wrinkling in the forehead area can give you a tired, aged, or worried appearance. Whether due to genetics or aging and gravity, if your brows are low, a brow lift can give your face a more youthful look.
Brow Lift Procedure
Also sometimes referred to as a forehead lift, a brow lift can counter the signs of aging by smoothing wrinkles and lifting the brows. Two different methods are used to address patient concerns safely and effectively:
- Endoscopic brow lift
- Coronal brow lift
The method used will depend on your unique anatomy and treatment goals. Most patients are better candidates for the less invasive endoscopic method, which is more commonly preferred than the coronal method.
Both techniques begin with the administration of anesthesia for patient comfort. Incisions are then made, tissue and muscle are adjusted, and the incisions are closed.
Endoscopic Brow Lift
In an endoscopic brow lift, small incisions are made just within the hairline. An endoscope, a small tube with a camera on one end, is used to guide the treatment of tissue and muscle as needed. These adjustments smooth out wrinkles and give the forehead a relaxed, youthful appearance. If necessary, your brows can also be lifted.
Coronal Brow Lift
Not every patient is a candidate for endoscopic treatment. In such cases, the coronal technique is used. A coronal incision is made from ear to ear across the top of your head. The brow is lifted, and necessary adjustments are made to the forehead muscles. Excess skin is removed, and the skin is tightened for beautiful results.
Brow Lift Recovery Process
You will be given specific instructions for your recovery period after the surgery. It is very important to follow these instructions for optimal healing and results. Special care should be taken to minimize swelling and to protect the incision areas from pressure, excessive movement, scratches, or scrapes.
Rest
An elastic bandage will be wrapped around your head after the surgery. It is advised to keep your head elevated and avoid strenuous physical activities. It is best to plan to take at least one week off work so you can rest and aid in your recovery. You should also limit your exposure to sunlight and heat.
Follow-Up Care
The bandages will be removed two days after your brow lift procedure. Stitches will be removed one or two weeks after the procedure. We will monitor your recovery and gradually allow you to return to work and other activities. Our team will be available to answer any questions and address any concerns throughout your recovery process.
