What is Mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy is a treatment method that involves the injection of components such as plant extracts, growth factors, hormones, enzymes, vitamins, amino acids, and hyaluronic acid into the skin.
We primarily use mesotherapy in facial treatments to brighten the skin, tighten loose skin, reduce lines and wrinkles, and treat hair loss. It is also a treatment option preferred for the treatment of blemishes, scars, stretch marks, and cellulite, as well as for localized slimming.
Mesotherapy Treatment
During each mesotherapy session, a numbing cream may be applied to the treatment area, depending on the area to be treated. This depends on both you and the treatment area. A special short needle will be used to inject the area to be treated.
Most patients will require a series of mesotherapy sessions to achieve the desired effect. Typically, 4 to 6 sessions are sufficient. However, some patients may need significantly more sessions. We can advise you on how many sessions will be required and the intervals between sessions. The frequency of the sessions will be planned at 2 to 3-week intervals, taking into account the patient’s individual recovery factors.
Treatments generally take about 10-15 minutes. Most people do not describe mesotherapy as painful but rather as somewhat uncomfortable. If the skin is particularly sensitive, an anesthetic cream can be used. After the procedure, mild redness, slight swelling, and bruising may occur in some areas, but these are expected to resolve within a few days. Your skin will become tighter, more nourished, hydrated, and brighter, and you will also notice a renewed texture.
What are the Benefits of Mesotherapy?
In addition to improving the appearance of superficial wrinkles, mesotherapy instantly revitalizes and refreshes tired and dull-looking skin. Since it increases slow blood circulation, it can also help the body eliminate toxins. This treatment not only improves your appearance on a skin and sub-skin level but also provides a therapeutic effect and lasting results by addressing the root of the problem. You can also use this treatment to address acne scars and pigmentation issues. For some of our patients, it is applied in conjunction with additional treatment protocols to achieve their desired appearance.
Am I a Suitable Candidate for Mesotherapy?
If any of the following apply to you, mesotherapy may not be suitable:
- If you are taking a series of medications for heart disease,
- If you have had blood clotting problems in the past,
- If you have a history of stroke,
- If you are an insulin-dependent diabetic,
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you’re unsure whether you’re a good candidate for mesotherapy, the best thing to do is call us for more information. We will be happy to offer our recommendations. Every treatment always begins with a consultation. This gives us the opportunity to evaluate your skin condition and make recommendations. We may think that another treatment would be more appropriate for you, or this could be the perfect treatment! In any case, please don’t hesitate to call us to learn more.
Post-Mesotherapy Care
There are several steps you can take to get the most out of your treatment and improve your results. These include:
- We may recommend a massage with a cream or gel to reduce bruising and swelling more quickly.
- Avoid sun exposure for 48 hours after the treatment and until the bruising has disappeared. If you need to go out in the sun, always make sure to use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
- Drink at least 2 liters of water on the day of the treatment. You should also continue to drink adequate amounts of water daily for a week after the treatment.
- Avoid exercise for two days after the treatment. Sweating can cause mild sensitivity in your skin.
- You should also avoid taking a shower for at least eight hours after the treatment. Do not take hot baths for at least two days.
Side Effects of Mesotherapy

Some of the potential side effects include:
- Redness
- Itching
